renovation of the wall

I’m here ready with cement and bricks,

Thanks for your help with the architectural bit.

Now, it wouldn’t matter if you pass by,

‘Cause even the cement on the doggie door is dry.

And all the holes you had dug through the wall,

Are stashed, incase you thought you could crawl.

So b-bye!

  Jewels

Sitting there in the bliss of solitude,

She was telling things to herself.

When a prisoner of habit,

Set out to hunt a fresh rabbit.

Wearing the pretence of serenity of a shrine,

He said, “That dress doesn’t look good without the accessory of a smile.”

Expecting a giggle or a blush,

He stood there asking his inner laughter to hush.

With no expression she gazed at him,

Saw this man looking sleek and thin.

She took a deep breath,

Spoke softly as she tilted her head.

True, accessories are important,

Can’t you see the ones I have begotten?

This pearl of tear,

So expensive you can’t even afford to hear.

This red ruby of hurt,

Glows even when covered in dirt.

These diamonds and topaz,

Are made of fears that will last.

So you don’t tell me I have a jewel less,

And just leave me alone with my dress.

the bright night sky

I caught those shooting stars,

And tucked them under my table.

I set one free,

Every time my eyes ask of u to see.

So I tell my heart to be a little miser,

Or my wishes will be over so I should act wiser.

And every time that star I set alight,

The look of your face causes that fire in me to ignite.

And I thank God that he brought me again this night,

So that I can set the fire alive,

To see your eyes.

To all those who pray the day come soon,

I plead, a little while more,

I wish to keep my moon.

So don’t ask for the dark to fade,

There is a little more my heart craves.

Mist and veil

Through the mist of my memories,

I see you looking towards me.

From the veil of time passed,

I glance another time at the smile we share.

And as i walk towards you,

The mist and the veil do too.

Yet i slowly run in to you one more time,

And embrace with hugs our love you said was just yours and mine.

Free

I dont want to fly,

It is not my feet that bind me.

I dont want the open door,

It is not the room that frights me.

I dont want to swim across the sea,

It is not the air that triumphs me.

I just want to be free,

From me.

   Dreamer

Mee walked too far ahead,

That ayi couldn’t catch up.

Mee was the dreamer,

And ayi the sleeper.

Ayi had often tried,

To wake mee to live the life.

But mee was the dreamer,

So Ayi became a believer.

longer

walk a little slower,

linger a little longer.

breathe a little deeper,

sigh a little louder.

it’ll all just breeze by,

before the time has come we’ll die.

so walk a little slower,

linger a little longer.

Even when no one is listening.

Sometimes one just wants to speak,

Spit out what has made them weak.

Even when no one is listening,

Stab a knife to the thought still bickering.

Scream out the blame,

Burn to dust all shame.

Feel weak and just speak,

Erase definitions and experience liberation.

Sometimes one just wants to speak,

Even when no one is listening.

chapters forgotten

just as it should be, lessons are learnt and chapters forgotten.
